FSI SR-One Spectroradiometer The FSI SR-One is a true spectroradiometer developed specifically for use in professional broadcast and post production environments. Spectroradiometers have previously been reserved primarily for lab and factory use due to their high cost and added complexity of operation compared to more widely adopted colorimeters. The SR-One brings the cost of high-end spectroradiometeric measurement down to 1/2 to 1/4 the cost of traditional spectroradiometers. Additionally, the SR-One is a fiber based, not lens based, design that is better suited to measurement at short distances from the display.

The availability of a reasonably priced and highly accurate spectroradiometer is becoming increasingly important in broadcast and post production environments as the use of varying display technologies is rapidly expanding. A spectroradiometer such as the SR-One is truly display agnostic and delivers a level of measurement accuracy for any display type that filter based colorimeters simply cannot achieve. As more facilities begin to adopt LED backlight LCD technologies a spectroradiometer becomes even more important as this very spectrally pure and rather monochromatic backlighting produces even greater measurement errors in filter based colorimeters.
